What can you do to help?

Coastcare groups all over Australia are undertaking all sort of activities in some awesome places from looking for beach nesting birds on some far out beaches, removing plants that have escaped from gardens and become weeds, collecting seed from local native plants and growing plants to return to sites that are being cared for, to surveying what sort of debris washes up on the coast.  You could go out and do these things on your own but much more can be achieved as part of a team. Join a Coastcare group (the more people that get involved, the more we can achieve).

Become a volunteer!

There are many ways to get involved. We have activities for all ages, interests and skills you can be a regular volunteer, or now & then. The work can be physical outdoors like planting trees, adopting a beach and cleaning up marine debris or removing weeds or something less physical like caring for seedlings in the nursery, managing social media pages, or watching out for shorebirds. You can be certain that you will learn some more about our magnificent coast and marine environments.

With such a lot of coastline there will always be a need for volunteers to take positive action to care for the areas we love and visit for fishing, surfing, enjoying the beach, quiet contemplation, whatever.

We welcome visitors to the area.  You get to see some off the beaten track and contribute to looking after the great Aussie coastline.
